Adapter for programming 44 Pin
PLCC Microcontrollers

The PLCC Adapter can be used to program 44 pin PLCC Microcontrollers
using a device programmer that supports the 40 pin DIP version of that
microcontroller. To convert from 44 pins to 40 pins, pins number 1, 12,
23, and 34 are not connected, These pins are usually not used by the microcontroller
(signified by NC on the pin out of the chip).
Connections from PLCC to DIP:
Pins 2-11 to Pins 1-10
Pins 13-22 to Pins 11-20
Pins 24-33 to Pins 21-30
Pins 35-44 to Pins 31-40
Dimensions: Length - 2.3", Width - 1.25", Height - 1"
Each
Adapter includes a PLCC extraction tool.
The bottom of the adapter is shown to the left. It is
a 40 pin DIP pattern.
The spacing is 0.585" across and 0.1" from pin to pin.
This will fit in 40 pin ZIF sockets and the standard
40 pin DIP sockets.
The picture below shows the PLCC adapter mounted on the
ADT87 adapter (for programming 8051 based chips).
The PLCC Adapter can be used with
any programmer that supports the 40 pin DIP version of a microcontroller.
